A Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company in Rancho Cucamonga, California is looking for a Compounding Technician to work in our Filling Department. We will train. Must have good verbal and learning skills. Must be flexible hours and days.
Shift Available:
- Second Shift: Sunday - Thursday 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM
SUMMARY: Perform pharmaceutical production compounding activity per standard operating procedure and cGMP. Measure and compound the appropriate raw materials and process them into batches of medication for the Filling Department. Clean and maintain all compounding equipment required to perform the job task.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identification and weighing of raw materials.
- Cleaning, inspection, general maintenance, assembly and inventory control of compounding equipment and spare parts such as tanks, glassware, mixers, etc.
- Mixing, ultrasonication, pH adjustment, temperature adjustment and other processing of raw materials and bulk as part of the compounding process per approved batch record.
- Safely handle and work with potentially hazardous material and chemical.
- Safely handle and work with pharmaceutical utilities such as hot WFI, pure steam, N2, etc.
- Filtration of compounded bulk as part of the compounding process.
- Sterilization of compounding equipment and bulk as part of the compounding process.
- Proper documentation of compounding activity to ensure accountability and traceability.
- Coordinate with Metrology Department to ensure timely calibration of all instruments related to the compounding operations.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Department to ensure timely preventative maintenance or request appropriate corrective maintenance on applicable compounding equipment.
- Assist QA, QC and Planning Department in the management and inventory control of raw material with respect to quantity, suitability and expiration.
- Assist other department in the development and validation activity related to the compounding and processing of pharmaceutical bulk.
- Perform gowning procedures and maintain cleanroom gowning certification.
- Perform cleaning of the compounding areas in compliance with established procedure and disinfectant application.
- Support the preparation and cleaning of the equipment and components as needed for scheduled fills.
- Maintain standard of personal hygiene consistent with working in a cleanroom environment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to understand and follow complex written procedures.
- Ability to work unsupervised as a team member.
- High attention to details and awareness of surroundings.
- Awareness of cGMP and SOPS.
- Ability to use small hand tools such as: screwdrivers, nut drivers, wrenches and allen wrenches.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: AA Degree plus one to three year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. B.S. Degree in Chemistry or other science related field desired. Experience in batch pharmaceutical compounding also desired.
