What You’ll Do
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
- Instruct students based on Individualized Education Programs (IEP); assess and monitor student progress
- Develop lesson plans; identify instructional materials, assess equipment to augment instruction; maintain student data; and utilize a variety of instructional strategies to improve student achievement and promote positive student behavior
- Prepare relevant paperwork prior to scheduling and conducting IEP meetings. Ensure compliance with state rules and regulations, IEP development and implementation, timelines and data collection for students on the caseload
- Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, interpreters, and other professionals regarding students’ educational programming
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional learning activities
- Monitor and maintain assistive listening devices
- Perform other duties as assigned and allowable by intended program
- Bachelor’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in education of the hearing impaired
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in the area of hearing impairment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- School-based experience preferred, but not required
