Staff Power Electronics Design Engineer

Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized Solid State Transformer systems. Solid State Transformers systems are much more than a transformer replacement, enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. Responsibilities:

• Design and end-to-end development including design, layout, verification, reliability test, and manufacturing of core circuits.

• High power, high voltage circuit design

• Compute systems including microcontrollers, processors and FPGAs for high frequency converter control and protection

• Auxiliary power supplies for 1kV inputs

• Isolated SiC gate drivers and fault protection circuits

• Sensing and EMC circuit design

Qualifications:

• Technical degree or equivalent industry experience in electronics engineering

• 3 years' experience in digital and analog circuit design

• Extensive hands-on experience with advanced digital and HV circuit bring-up and troubleshooting

• Proficiency with PCB CAD and simulation tools (preferably Altium Designer, *SPICE and/or PLECS)

• Excellent written and verbal communications in English

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally

Bonus Qualifications:

• Designed and built a power electronics PCBA

• Experience with board thermals management

Please note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week. We do not offer hybrid or remote options.
