About The Role
As a Distinguished Engineer, System Level Validation, you serve as a principal advisor and expert in shaping our best-in-class hardware platform solutions. You will strategically own and guide the in-depth analysis of server class volume system testing, applying profound knowledge to prioritize critical issues, identify complex trends, and contribute directly to the successful bring-up and validation of our next-generation silicon. This role involves bridging Pre-Si and Post-Si teams to align validation strategy and system debug methodology. As a thought leader, you will drive advancements in validation, automation, and new principles in server systems, database architecture, and tools to deliver unprecedented product quality and efficiency.

The full base pay range for this role is between $279,500 and $419,500, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $293,000 and $440,000.

What You'll Achieve
- Strategically direct and assume ultimate accountability for comprehensive results analysis of server SoC volume system level test.
- Architect and champion advanced methodologies for leveraging detailed fail logs and in-line data to identify, categorize, and predict critical failure trends.
- Establish and govern strategic priorities for global failure analysis teams, informed by rigorous fail rate assessment and business impact-driven risk analysis.
- Drive the strategic integration and interpretation of RMA data to recalibrate and prioritize critical issues, ensuring proactive provision of impactful samples for in-depth analysis and resolution.
- Lead and articulate high-level insights from trend data to executive leadership and key stakeholders, influencing product direction and strategic investments.
- Pioneer the development of advanced diagnostic techniques to proactively identify systemic commonalities across failures, pinpointing underlying test platform or manufacturing lot issues with strategic implications.
- Architect and champion the evolution of platform and firmware diagnostic requirements, significantly elevating overall test coverage, debug efficiency, and analysis capability across all product lines.
- Initiate and lead the strategic roadmap for automation, encompassing advanced data collection frameworks and sophisticated decision-based control systems to revolutionize validation efficiency and depth.
- Instigate and oversee transformational process improvements across the entire end-to-end lifecycle, spanning both design and manufacturing, to achieve step-function gains in quality, efficiency, and time-to-market.
- Strategically leverage and interpret advanced characterization data, such as voltage/frequency shmoos over temperature, precise characterization of power measurement features, and sophisticated guard-band analysis, to optimize product performance, reliability, and market competitiveness.
- 12 years of extensive hands-on Post-Silicon Validation expertise, with a proven track record across platform lifecycles from pre-silicon to deployment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing multiple validation projects, and execution cycles. Leading debug efforts for weekly product milestones and owning full-system bring-up.
- Proficiency in processor system-level validation, including deep knowledge of system architecture and expertise in High-Speed I/O debugging and validation.
- Strong data analysis skills and failure analysis know-how, utilized to optimize validation indicators and metrics.
- Solid program management capabilities, encompassing end-to-end requirements tracking, cross-functional dependency mapping, and managing vendor engagements.
- High-level grasp of firmware engineering, FW/SW stack processes, and integration methodologies to support diagnostic capabilities.
- Experience in software development and integration, demonstrated through pioneering systems engineering for software integration on various platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree & 15 years of related experience; or Master’s degree & 12 years; or PhD & 8 years.
