Job Title: Staff Augmentation: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location(s): Waltham, MA
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide operational support, administration, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer within a Microsoft-centric infrastructure environment. The resource will work closely with customer subject matter experts and support the transition of services from existing providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Active Directory infrastructure.
- Manage user provisioning, Group Policy, security groups, and access controls.
- Provide Microsoft 365 administration and technical support.
- Support Exchange Online mailbox administration.
- Perform Windows Server administration, troubleshooting, and break/fix activities.
- Monitor server health and system performance and respond to operational incidents.
- Provide infrastructure-level support for SQL Server environments.
- Collaborate with application owners, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
- Assist with infrastructure migrations, service transitions, and onboarding activities.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
- Support knowledge-transfer activities with internal teams and customer SMEs.
- Provide onsite support during onboarding and transition phases.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in Infrastructure Operations.
- Strong hands-on Active Directory administration experience.
- Strong Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 administration experience.
- Microsoft 365 administration experience.
- Exchange Online administration experience.
- Hands-on Group Policy management experience.
- Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, and Windows networking fundamentals.
- Experience administering VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
- Experience with incident and problem management.
- PowerShell scripting experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and break/fix skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure administration experience.
- Experience providing infrastructure support for SQL Server.
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Experience supporting healthcare or insurance environments.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
Soft Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working directly with customer SMEs and technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a small-team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in an operational support environment.
Work Location
Waltham, MA. This is an onsite/hybrid position. Candidates must be local to the area or able to reliably commute to the Waltham location when onsite presence is required.
