Job Title: Software Test Engineer 1

Location(s): Johnson City, TN

Work Schedule:

• 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM.
• Onsite initially for training and onboarding.
• Potential for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of training and demonstrated performance.
  
  

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  
  

Requirements:

• Entry-level Software/Firmware Test Engineer.
• Proficiency in C# programming.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
• Knowledge of firmware testing for complex embedded runtime environments.
• Experience with industrial automation systems is preferred.
• Experience with motion control systems, I/O modules, and related automation hardware is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Execute functional testing of industrial automation products.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze requirements and develop test cases.
• Evaluate requirement testability and provide feedback during development.
• Identify, document, and communicate software defects, technical issues, and design concerns.
• Work closely with developers, technical writers, support engineers, project managers, and QA teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support testing activities for embedded software and firmware in industrial automation environments.
  
  

Additional Information:

• Dayforce is used for timekeeping.
• Initial onsite presence is required for training. Based on performance and business needs, some remote work may be available after onboarding.
