The Printing Machine Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and providing construction documents
for the engineering department to support our construction field teams as per their request. This position ensures
all printed materials meet AMPAM quality standards while maintaining production schedules, managing print
queues, organizing project deliverables, and supporting internal departments with timely document distribution.
The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality work, stays organized in a fast-paced production
environment, and proactively identifies equipment or workflow issues before they impact project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Print Production & Equipment Operation
• Operate large-format plotters, scanners, folding machines, and finishing equipment.
• Produce accurate, high-quality construction drawing sets, specifications, permits, and project
documentation.
• Monitor print jobs for quality, alignment, scaling, color consistency, and completeness.
• Verify drawing revisions and ensure current document versions are printed.
• Prioritize print requests based on project deadlines and production schedules.
• Package and organize completed drawing sets for distribution to project teams.
Equipment Maintenance Upkeep
• Perform daily startup, shutdown, and dusting on printing equipment.
• Monitor toner, paper, ink, and other supply inventories to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot common printer issues including jams, calibration problems, media loading, and print quality
defects.
• Coordinate equipment repairs with vendors when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized print production area.
Quality Control
• Inspect printed documents for accuracy before distribution.
• Ensure proper sheet sizes, scaling, orientation, and page sequencing.
• Verify that all drawing revisions match project requirements.
• Identify print defects and reprint materials as needed to maintain quality standards.
• Maintain consistency across all project deliverables.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience operating large-format printers, production equipment, or print shop machinery
preferred.
• Experience working with construction drawings, engineering documents, or architectural plans is highly
desirable.
• Experience in a high-volume production environment preferred.
Technical Skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience using PDF software such as Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to understand construction drawing sets and revision numbering preferred is a plus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot printing equipment.
• Ability to learn new production software and printing systems.
