Job Summary: The HVAC Designer/ Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of HVAC systems for various residential, multifamily housing and commercial projects. The role requires a solid foundation in HVAC principles, the ability to manage multiple projects, and effective collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
· HVAC systems design includes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential, multifamily housing and commercial projects.
· Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
· Perform load calculations, energy modeling, equipment selection, duct sizing, and Hydronic pipes sizing.
· Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (CMC, UMC, IMC, CEES, CPC, CGC, CFC, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA).
· Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications using design software (AutoCAD, Revit).
· Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
· Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
· Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
· Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC design engineering.
· Proficiency in HVAC design software (Revit, Energy Pro. Title 24, Carrier HAP, and AutoCAD).
· Strong understanding of HVAC principles, codes, and standards. (CMC, IMC, CPC, NFPA, CBC)
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
· Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
. Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship or a work visa.
Preferred Skills:
· EIT certification is a plus.
· LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices.
· Advanced knowledge of energy efficiency and green building technologies.
