Responsibilities
- Manage incoming calls using multi-line phone systems, providing clear communication and professional phone etiquette to drivers, clients, and internal teams
- Dispatch freight shipments efficiently by analyzing routes, schedules, and delivery priorities using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries
- Coordinate with carriers, 3PL providers, and warehouse teams for shipping & receiving activities, ensuring accurate data entry into AS400 and other logistics platforms
- Monitor fleet management systems to oversee vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and driver assignments
- Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in logistics operations
- Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, shipment details, and incident reports for compliance and performance tracking
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or transportation planning within a logistics or supply chain environment
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine
- Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and fleet management software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple calls simultaneously while maintaining professionalism
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record keeping
- Proficiency in typing and using multi-line phone systems for efficient call handling
- Ability to analyze logistical data to support decision-making processes in freight movement and route optimization
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, freight handling, and warehouse operations is a plus
