What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tile Installer position at Amos Tile and Stone?
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Tile Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with residential tile installations, waterproofing systems, deck mud shower pans, and a strong understanding of industry standards and quality workmanship. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates professionally with homeowners, and works well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install a variety of tile materials including:
- Large format tile
- Ceramic tile
- Porcelain tile
- Mosaic tile
- Install and work with waterproofing systems including Schluter systems and similar products
- Build and float deck mud shower pans and perform proper shower preparation
- Prepare surfaces for tile installation including leveling, layout, and substrate preparation
- Cut and shape tile using appropriate hand and power tools
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and solve problems efficiently in the field
- Follow manufacturer specifications and industry standards for installation
- Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications
- Experience in residential tile installation required
- Knowledge of waterproofing systems such as Schluter
- Experience working with deck mud and shower systems
- Familiarity with power tools, tile saws, grinders, mixing equipment, and general jobsite safety
- Ability to install various tile sizes and materials accurately and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor throughout the day
- Ability to problem solve and adapt on the job
