The Upholstery Expert will fabricate, repair, and install custom upholstery for commercial furniture and millwork, following project specifications, shop drawings, and design intent. Daily responsibilities include measuring and cutting materials, pattern matching, sewing, stapling, and fitting upholstery on frames while ensuring high-quality finishes and structural integrity. The role involves working with leather, textiles, foams, and other materials; operating hand tools and industrial equipment; and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. The Upholstery Expert will collaborate with designers, project managers, and shop staff to meet deadlines, support value engineering efforts, and ensure consistent quality across all projects.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial upholstery, including measuring, cutting, sewing, and fitting a variety of materials such as leather, vinyl, and fabric.
- Strong skills in pattern layout and matching, foam cutting and shaping, and cushioning techniques for booths, banquettes, seating, and panels.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, technical specifications, and design documents to execute work accurately.
- Proficiency with upholstery hand tools and equipment (staple guns, industrial sewing machines, cutting tools) and adherence to safety procedures.
- Experience collaborating with internal teams and external partners (contractors, millwork shops, designers) and communicating clearly about project requirements.
- Attention to detail, high quality standards, and the ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and correct upholstery defects or inconsistencies.
- Capability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and handle materials and furniture components throughout the workday.
- Previous experience in commercial upholstery or related furniture fabrication; experience in hospitality or retail environments is a plus.
