What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rainbow Club Faculty Advisor - Lawrence School (Stipend) - 2026-2027 School Year position at Amos A. Lawrence School?
Rainbow Clubs are intended to serve as safe spaces for students to explore identity and build community and belonging. It is managed by a teacher facilitators that provide an inclusive place for students to meet and:
- Support one another and gain greater insights on their personal experiences
- Explore personal identity/expression
- Work to end harassment and discrimination
Three typical functions of a Rainbow Club include providing support, building community, and taking action to create change within the school. Examples of topics that may be discussed include projects aimed at creating a safe, welcoming and accepting school environment for all students. We strive to create a safe space for community building and learning. Grades 4-8
Adult facilitators are expected to:
- Facilitate Rainbow Club meetings 1-2x monthly
- Collaboratively work with colleagues and school leadership to organize professional development opportunities for faculty on how to support student diversity better
- Use out of school time to thoughtfully plan Rainbow Club student meetings, activities, and draft communications for the school community __ educators and families
