Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Transportation Driver (NEMT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers and goods to various destinations while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to communicate effectively with passengers and team members.
Duties
- Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers at designated locations.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and basic maintenance as needed.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
Qualificaation Requirements:
- 21 years or older.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
- Current valid driver's license for least five (5) years.
- Clean driving record (No more than one (1) moving violations in five (5) years)and a reliable employment history.
- Sincere desire to work with the general public, especially the elderly and people with disabilities.
- Knowledge of the local city area...MUST Know the City
- Comfort with maps and GPS systems
- Possess excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, wheelchair van driver, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience with paratransit services or school bus driving is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when assisting passengers or loading/unloading goods.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices is advantageous.
