The Pulmonary unit is comprised of 36 private patient rooms and is predominantly an adult/geriatric medical unit, providing care for, but not limited to, the following conditions:
Acute Respiratory Failure, Pneumonia, Pulmonary Embolism, Congestive Heart Failure, Lung, Cancer, Influenza, COVID, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases, Chest pain without cardiac intervention, Tuberculosis, Pleural Effusion, Septicemia without mechanical ventilation, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Medical Stabilization of Behavioral Health Patients
Pulmonary accepts overflow patients from the following service lines: Cardiovascular, Surgical, and Acute Medical.
Frequent procedures/services/processes: Tracheostomy care, High Flow oxygen therapy, Arterial blood gas, Bipap/CPAP maintenance, Bedside chest tube insertion assistance and maintenance, Bedside thoracentesis assistance, Cardiac monitoring, NG tube insertions, PEG tube maintenance, Central line/PICC line maintenance, IV starts, Urinary catheterization, Simple and complex wound care, Patient observation, Patient and family teaching, Discharge teaching and home care instructions"
