Unit Information:
Beds: 32
Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years PCU RN experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Could see any patient not requiring mechanical ventilation – CHF, Dysrhythmia, Chest Pain work up, Stroke, Abdominal illnesses and infections, Respiratory illness, Diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, IVDA, etc.
Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:4 is most common; could possibly go to 1:5 depending on acuity
LPN (if applicable): 4:1
CNA: Days 1:12; Nights 1:16
Required Licensure & Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills required:
Experience with traches, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, management of central lines
Support within the Department:
CNA - ADL’s
Receptionist/HUC? Dayshift only
Charge nurse – Resource to assist with all nursing care
Phlebotomy? Yes, other than nurse draws
IV/VAT Team
RT, 24/7
