Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of PCU exp

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
COPD/Pulmonary Diseases, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Renal Failure, Sepsis, ETOH/CIWA and IVDA, tracheostomies requiring mechanical ventilation, continuous BIPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, hypothermia regulation, and titratable IV drips
Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:3-4
CNA: 1:9
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills required:
RN: Experience with the above patients, experience with trached/vented patients, temporary/transvenous pacemaker, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, trach care, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.
Support within the Department:
CNA – patient care (ADLs/Vitals/Nutrition/Blood sugar checks) and mobility
No Receptionist/HUC
Charge nurse
Virtual Nursing (helps with Admission/Discharge, Virtual Observation of patients, can sign off as RN witness for certain meds)
Phlebotomy, 24/7
IV/VAT Team, 24/7

MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist
RT 24/7 – will perform Nebulizer treatments
Nurse Educator
Hospitalist, 24/7
Intensivist until 12am and then virtual/on call critical care MD
No remote Tele Monitoring - Unit Clerk, Charge/Clinical Supervisor and Staff are responsible to read and post every shift
