What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse – Progressive Care position at AMN Healthcare?
Floating:
Within region and scope of practice
Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
HPB Patients – Whipples, Liver Resections, Distal Pancreas/Spleen, Pancreatitis
Women’s Surgery – Hysterectomies, Mastectomies
Plastic Surgery – DIEP Flap (Breast Reconstruction), Panniculectomy
Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:4-5
LPN (if applicable): 1:4-5
CNA: 1:10
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)
Skills required:
Drain Care, Central Line Management, G/J Tubes, Heparin Gtt management, Cardiac Gtt management (ACLS), cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement/management, management of various surgical drains
Support within the Department:
CNA Duties - able to perform blood draws, foley insertion/removal, standard patient care as assigned
Charge nurse - Able to assist with patient care, med passes, & admissions; may or may not have an assignment
IV/VAT Team - Available as a consult within the hospital
Resource Nurse - Mentors available on night shift
Telemetry monitoring/tech

IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Phillips
Unit specific equipment: Bladder scanner, EKG machine, transport monitor, bedside Tele monitors in PCU rooms
