What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist- Pediatric Hematology and Oncology position at AMN Healthcare?
This position is accountable forproviding safe and effective pharmaceutical care to neonates through youngadulthood at Valley Children's Healthcare. Serves as pharmacology consultant, apatient advocate, and a fiscal conscience to the healthcare team whileproviding pharmacy services to meet the needs of patients/care providers, physicians,nurses and other healthcare team members. Processes safe and effective drugtherapy beginning with the review of physician's orders through theadministration and outcome of drug therapy and includes providing clinicalpharmaceutical services.
The emphasis of this position isadvanced pharmacy practice in a pediatric inpatient setting primarily servinghematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) including CAR-T and Bone Marrow Transplant. The pharmacist will support FACTaccreditation including meeting the core competencies and required continuingeducation.
The pharmacist will support staffdevelopment and training including working with pharmacy students, PGY-1 andPGY-2 residents.
EXPERIENCE:
- Preference given to candidates with PGY-2 with a focus in oncology and pediatrics
- Preference given to candidates with a minimum 2 years oncology experience in pediatrics
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree required
- ASHP Accredited Residency Program preferred
- RPH – Registered Pharmacist License – California State Board of Pharmacy required
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification preferred
- PALS – Pediatric Advance Life Support within 12 months of hire or transfer into position preferred
- BLS – Basic Life Support is required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
POSITION DETAILS:
- 10 hour shifts. Mixed shifts, primarily days including some weekends with limited evenings or overnights
