What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (MA) position at AMN Healthcare?
Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and record information on patients' charts. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients. Inform patients of costs for care being provided and guides them to appropriate resources for further information. Type routine correspondence and reports from dictation or handwritten copy. Answer telephones, screen callers, relay messages and greet visitors. Medical Assistants can work in multiple settings including doctor’s offices, hospital and/or outpatient clinic.
Education/Requirements:
***Dermatology Department: Full time assignment for 3 months with potential to extend. Must be able to work at La Mesa & San Marcos. Will be scheduled 32-40hrs per week. Prefer ambulatory experience and specimen collection. Primary Duties: Back Office patient care . MA Certified
Education/Requirements:
- High School education is required, some states also require the completion of a certificate program.
- Phlebotomy certification sometimes required
