Interim Pathology Lab Manager Needed in Cary, North Carolina!

The Position

• An Interim Pathology Lab Manager is needed to lead and stabilize clinical pathology laboratory operations while driving operational improvements and preparing the department for upcoming regulatory inspections.
• Reporting to the Director of Pathology and Histology, this leader will oversee a team of 27 FTEs.
• Key responsibilities include quickly assessing and stabilizing clinical pathology and core laboratory operations, realigning laboratory policies and practices to system standards, evaluating departmental operations and developing action plans to improve efficiency and testing turnaround times, stabilizing the workforce through retention and recruitment efforts, and leading the laboratory through successful AABB and CAP inspections.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive clinical pathology laboratory leadership experience, proven success leading turnaround initiatives, and direct CAP inspection preparation experience. Experience managing core laboratory, chemistry, and hematology services is essential. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
• Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science required.
• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification and National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) certification required.
• Progressive pathology laboratory leadership experience required.

Pay Details

• Pay Range: $160,000 - $170,000 annually.
• The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
• The listed base compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments.
