Interim Nurse Manager, Labor & Delivery Needed in Washington state
The Position
- An Interim Nurse Manager, Labor & Delivery is needed to lead the L&D and postpartum units in a 200 bed hospital and its 20 bed campus facility.
- Reporting to the Director of Women’s Services, this leader will oversee two direct reports and approximately 100 FTEs.
- Key responsibilities include managing daily operations of Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care; supporting staff engagement and quality initiatives; and assisting with onboarding a new RN supervisor.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience in women’s services, union contract familiarity, and supervisory and unit management expertise. They must be able to quickly build trust with staff amid recent dissatisfaction over operations. Must be highly organized, patient focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
- Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Active WA RN license or Compact RN license required.
- Must have several years of supervisory or managerial experience in labor and delivery management, including oversight of L&D, postpartum, and neonatal care, with familiarity working under a union contract in a hospital-based women’s services or maternity unit.

- Compensation Range: 160$,000 to $170,000 annually.
- The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
