Interim Director of Care Management Needed in Des Moines, Iowa!
The Position
- An Interim Director of Care Management is needed to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for care management, utilization management, discharge planning, and social work services across a multi-hospital healthcare system.
- This leader will oversee approximately 64 FTEs.
- Key responsibilities include driving efficiency initiatives, improving discharge planning processes, reducing readmissions, strengthening physician partnerships, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, partnering with revenue cycle teams, optimizing workflow management, enhancing team collaboration, and meeting organizational productivity and performance metrics.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading care management programs within large healthcare systems. This leader must be an innovative, strategic, and highly visible executive who can quickly build relationships across multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
- Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Progressive leadership experience in care management, case management, social work, utilization management, or related healthcare services is required, preferably within a large multi-facility health system environment.

- Compensation Range: $160,000 to $170,000 annually.
- The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
