About the Role:
Ammons Transportation Service Inc is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Bus and Grounds Maintenance team member to join our Chicago, IL operation. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a vital part in keeping our fleet clean and our facilities looking their best. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and fueling on buses and fleet vehicles
- Identify and report maintenance issues, fluid levels, tire conditions, and safety concerns
- Maintain grounds and facility exterior, including landscaping, snow removal, and debris cleanup
- Conduct minor repairs and upkeep on transportation equipment and facility infrastructure
- Keep maintenance logs and records up to date for fleet and grounds activities
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and transportation regulations
- Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner
Requirements:
- Prior experience in customer service and maintenance, grounds keeping, or a related field preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor repairs
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, blowers, weed whackers, and snowplows
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks
- Office cleaning
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Valid driver's license preferred; CDL a plus and increased salary
- Must pass a basic background check and basic medical exam
