What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator position at Amlon Port Allen?
The Amlon Group has been in operation for over 30 years. We process and recycle metal-bearing by-product produced from industrial manufacturing. We hold all necessary permits, licenses, and technology to handle difficult-to-manage materials and those that require special processing.
Our goals are to serve our customers and the environment by recycling metal from waste streams and re-purposing the metals as usable products. We help simplify the process for our customers and make it possible for them to adhere to the highest environmental standards.
Oilfield experience is highly preferred.
Requirements
- Monitor and operate plant equipment - including start-ups and shut-downs, TDU machinery
- Via PLC computer system
- In field operation for manual control as required
- Ability to operate light equipment, including: forklifts, skid Steer Loaders,
- Trouble shoot operational problems
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and/or work with Maintenance personnel on major repairs
- Understand and follow written or verbal instructions and procedures
- Use computers to:
- Access procedures and other information
- Access and complete required training
- Input/retrieve data
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company rules and policies
- Wear personal protective equipment as required (may include: safety glasses, fire retardant coveralls, safety boots, hard hats, face shields, etc.)
- Perform housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain plant and equipment in a neat, orderly condition
- Be dependable (report to work when scheduled, be on time for work)
- Be available for overtime. Rotating shift work- 14- 12 hour shifts, Off 7.
- Show initiative (make good use of time and resources)
- Be a able to run a team
Physical requirements
- Working indoors and outdoors (in all weather conditions),
- Standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders,
- Working at heights,
- Working in confined spaces (as needed),
- Working 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights),
- Lifting and moving loads of various weights
Training Requirements (after reporting to work):
- Maintain current status on all procedural and safety training
- Equipment operation as process changes are made
Required Qualifications:
- Oilfield experience highly preferred
- Spanish is preffered
- High School Diploma/GED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
