Job Title: Locksmith Apprentice

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Locksmith Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position provides hands-on training in residential, commercial, automotive, and electronic locksmith services. The apprentice will work alongside experienced locksmiths, learning how to install, repair, service, and troubleshoot locks, door hardware, access control systems, safes, and related security products while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced locksmiths with residential, commercial, and automotive service calls.
• Learn to install, repair, rekey, and replace locks, cylinders, and door hardware.
• Assist with installation and servicing of panic hardware, door closers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and access control systems.
• Learn key cutting, master key systems, and lock pinning.
• Assist with programming automotive transponder keys and key fobs.
• Help install and troubleshoot electronic locks and keypad systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, service vehicle, and inventory.
• Complete work orders accurately and maintain service documentation.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service at job sites.
• Participate in on-the-job training and manufacturer training programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred but not required.
• Experience in construction, carpentry, electrical work, or maintenance is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
