Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Process and verify prescription orders, including data entry into pharmacy management systems
- Handle patient intake, answer phones, and provide excellent customer service at the counter
- Manage insurance billing, prior authorizations, and resolve claim rejections
- Maintain and organize pharmacy inventory, including receiving and stocking medications
- Prepare and package medications while adhering to safety and compliance standards
- Support a clean, organized, and HIPAA-compliant pharmacy environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Connecticut Pharmacy Technician registration or ability to obtain one
- PTCB (CPhT) certification preferred but not required
- Prior retail pharmacy or healthcare experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy software and basic computer skills
