Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
- Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and reconciling daily sales
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and support merchandising efforts to keep the store inviting and well-organized
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking products and conducting stock counts as directed
Experience
- Prior cashiering experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail math to handle transactions confidently
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage customers effectively in both bilingual settings (English plus another language) is a plus
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership growth opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash register operations accurately and responsibly
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies
- Basic math skills for cash handling, balancing registers, and performing retail math calculations
