We are actively seeking an Executive Director to lead our Boys Residential Program in Bennettsville, SC.

Founded in 1996, AMIkids Bennettsville is a private nonprofit, staff-secure residential facility in Bennettsville, South Carolina. Our program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, serving kids who have committed a variety of non-violent offenses and are involved with the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. Our kids are living in dormitories on campus in a remote location, which is ideally structured to help them work through their issues and gain the needed skills to return to their families and communities.

Position Summary
The role of the Executive Director is the realization of AMIkids’ mission to provide a safe and successful learning environment for troubled youth, while encouraging social and emotional development through the achievement of academic and personal goals. The Executive Director is held accountable to provide vision, leadership and management of program resources to meet the established mission and goals; to include but not limited to Program Operations, Board Development, Financial Performance, Fundraising, Compliance and Community and Public Relations while reflecting AMIkids values.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

Program Operations
  • Effectively lead and manage the administration of program operations to ensure the program is effective and aligned with contract(s) and AMIkids’ requirements,
  • Integrate and oversee the AMIkids Personal Growth Model (PGM) along with the Vocational Education initiatives,
  • Implement policies and procedures; plan, organize and direct program goals and objectives; in alignment with AMIkids goals and objectives and contract requirements,
  • Provide day to day leadership and management; motivate and lead your team: attract, recruit, retain (guide, develop and provide growth opportunities),
  • Assess/project compliance and risk management situations and address occurrences immediately,
  • Foster productive working relationships with all stakeholders, (e.g. AMIkids Inc., peer AMIkids programs, Community partners, local Board of Trustees, and regulatory agencies, etc.),
  • Effectively perform and manage Executive Director accountabilities with Regional Director and Board of Directors,
Board Development
  • Work in partnership with the Board to effectively promote AMIkids within the community and develop long-term and short-term priorities,
  • Communicate effectively with the Board on a consistent basis providing timely and accurate information enabling the Board to function properly and make informed decisions,
  • Plan and direct program operations to fulfill the local Board of Trustees’ approved initiatives,
Financial Performance and Administration
  • Understand Program financial reports and take appropriate action to identify trends and discrepancies,
  • Manage finances within approved budget,
  • Support resource development activities to include grant writing, cultivation and stewardship of donors; actively seeking and maintaining a diverse donor base while maintaining AMIkids values,
  • Ensure monetary functions are performed within AMIkids and IRS compliance, documentation and reporting regulatory requirements,
Community and Public Relations
  • Develop partnerships and maintain contact with stakeholders; serve as a liaison for the Program,
  • Create a strong marketing/branding initiative to ensure successful promotion and fund raising of the Program within the community and interested parties,
  • Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and regional expansion while simultaneously retiring debt,
Education, Training and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred, in Business Administration, Education, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology or related field;
  • Experience with securing youth placement;
  • Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience;
  • Minimum five (5) years relevant experience;
  • Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license in the state of employment and have a driving record that meets the standards of the AMIkids Transportation Policy,
  • May be required to acquire and maintain CDL license,
  • Be able to complete training's outside the program when required (may need to travel to other locations).
