the job:

amika is seeking a dynamic and creative Manager of Social Content & Creation to support the next evolution of our social-first brand storytelling. Reporting into the Director of Content Strategy & Community Engagement, this role combines hands-on content creation with creative collaboration and emerging platform fluency. You’ll ideate, produce, and visually direct content that drives reach, cultural relevance, and community connection. This role is ideal for a social-native creative with a strong aesthetic eye, someone who lives and breathes platform-first content while also leaning into creative collaboration, shoot execution, and on-set direction to help keep our creative engine running smoothly.

salary: $85,000 - $100,000 bonus

location: hybrid (must be based in New York have the right to work in the US)

what you'll do:

Social-First Content Creation & Strategy

• Own concept development, visual approach, and platform-native storytelling across TikTok and Instagram
• Produce culturally relevant content across Reels, TikTok, Stories, lo-fi videos, product demos, and BTS
• Act as talent and/or direct talent when needed
• Write hooks, captions, and creative POV aligned to amika’s brand voice
• Identify trends, apply insights, and propose new content formats and series

Creative Direction & Visual Storytelling

• Collaborate closely with Creative to translate brand direction into social-native assets
• Bring strong aesthetic instincts and art-direction capabilities
• Develop moodboards, visual concepts, and platform POV
• Support shoot lighting, framing, and visual guidelines to ensure platform alignment

Shoot Production & On-Set Direction

• Assist with pre-production planning (shot lists, props, talent coordination)
• Support social capture on set, ensuring content aligns with channel goals
• Manage content capture workflows for smooth creative handoff

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Creative, Brand, Influencer, Professional, Community teams
• Represent a strong social-creative POV in creative reviews
• Bring consumer insights and performance learnings into content decisions

Performance Optimization & Insights

• Analyze analytics and help inform social content direction
• Recommend creative testing and optimization
• Participate in weekly performance reviews

must haves:

• 4-6 years experience in content creation for a brand, creator platform, agency (beauty preferred) or personal platform.
• Deep familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, and creator culture. You intuitively understand what works and why.
• Confident both behind the camera and in front of it; charismatic, creative, and willing to try new formats.
• A skilled mobile editor with strong visual instincts and an eye for aesthetic details.
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• A natural collaborator who thrives in a team setting.
• Based in NY and able to work from the Brooklyn HQ and attend shoots as needed.
