Senior Project Manager – MEP | Ground-Up Data Center Construction

Location: Indiana (On-Site Monday–Friday)

Relocation/Travel: Candidates can be based anywhere in the US. Excellent per diem, flights home, and long weekends provided.

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading General Contractor delivering some of the largest hyperscale and mission critical data center projects in North America.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record leading the MEP delivery of large-scale, ground-up data center construction projects.

This is a high-profile leadership position where you'll take ownership of complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety packages from preconstruction through commissioning and client handover. You'll work closely with Project Executives, Owners, Design Teams, Superintendents, Trade Partners, and Commissioning Teams to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of MEP systems across large-scale ground-up data center projects.
• Manage projects from preconstruction through commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Oversee Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Controls subcontractors.
• Drive project schedules, budgets, procurement, quality, and risk management.
• Lead coordination between design consultants, owners, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress and ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Work closely with commissioning teams to support successful testing, turnover, and operational readiness.
• Build strong relationships with clients while maintaining exceptional project delivery standards.
• Mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project engineers.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering ground-up data center construction projects.
• Strong background managing MEP packages on mission critical projects.
• Experience working for a General Contractor.
• Excellent understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Building Controls systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, technically complex construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, contracts, and change management.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Willingness to work on-site Monday to Friday in Indiana.

Preferred

• Experience delivering hyperscale data centers.
• Knowledge of commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST).
• Experience with BIM coordination and digital construction tools.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
