REGISTERED NURSE - EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Location: 830 Washington St, Watertown, NY 13601
Job Type: Contract (Travel), Full-time
Pay: $60.00 to $68.76 per hour
Schedule: Night shift, 7p-7a (12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Watertown, NY. The ideal candidate can identify and intervene in life-threatening situations, thrives in a fast-paced and stressful environment, and has strong leadership skills. Critical care and charge experience are preferred.
Requirements
- Current NYS RN license
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
- Travel nursing experience
- MEDITECH experience
- 100-mile radius rule applies

Responsibilities and Skills
- Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
- Apply thorough knowledge of nursing principles to provide quality patient care
- Assess patients’ clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual needs
- Recognize safety issues to self and others, and use lifts to move patients safely
- Function well in stressful situations, with good, creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, including the ability to prioritize and delegate
- Assume charge nurse duties when required
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Certifications and Competencies Required After Hire
- Successfully complete the lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation
- Obtain defibrillation certification within six months of employment
- Complete IV, medication and phlebotomy certification during orientation
Pay: $60.00 - $68.76 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 per week
