As their Southeast team continues to grow, we’re hiring a Transmission Department Manager to lead engineering delivery, develop high-performing teams, and drive regional growth.

🧠What you’ll be doing:
People Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and designers
- Partner with HR and recruiting to attract, hire, and onboard top talent
- Guide career development and progression within the T&D organization
- Conduct performance reviews and implement development plans
- Identify training needs and support targeted development programs
- Foster a culture of safety, ownership, innovation, and teamwork
Project Execution & Technical Excellence
- Serve as a senior technical advisor across transmission projects
- Monitor project performance across quality, schedule, and budget
- Drive adoption of tools, technologies, and engineering best practices
- Support proposal development and QA/QC processes
- Align with global teams on staffing, delivery, and technical direction
Strategic Planning & Business Growth
- Contribute to regional strategy, planning, and growth initiatives
- Support business development, proposals, and client engagement
- Partner with marketing and account teams to win new work
- Represent the business at industry events and conferences
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
Cross-Regional & Organizational Alignment
- Collaborate with regional and national leadership on best practices
- Align teams across offices on standards, tools, and delivery approach
- Support integration of global engineering resources
- Assist with resource planning and workload distribution
Operational & Quality Oversight
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and QA/QC standards
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes
- Support implementation of project management tools and systems
- Contribute to development of EPC and program management capabilities
🔍 Who we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field
- 7 years of experience in transmission and distribution consulting
- Background in engineering design and or project management
- Proven leadership experience managing technical or engineering teams
- Experience mentoring and developing staff
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
- Track record of successful project delivery and financial performance
đź’ˇ Preferred experience:
- 10 years of industry experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) and or PMP certification
- Experience with tools such as EcoSys, Microsoft Project, Power BI
- Business development experience including proposals and client engagement
- Experience working in multi-office or matrixed organization
