The Material Handler prepares customer orders for shipping
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders- Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed
- Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures
- Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards
- Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements
- Properly stencils shipping information as required
- Provides maintenance and keeps records of Maintenance on all equipment assigned
- Maintains clean work area
- Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures
- Participates in TQM and SPC meetings
- EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred
OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours
