Position Summary: 

Bergamos Retreat, a world leader in innovative wellness, is searching for a Licensed Massage Therapist who either has or wants to learn advanced wellness treatments. As the industry shifts from simple massage therapy to an experience of well-being set yourself apart by aligning with the Bergamos Team and developing a career in wellness. We offer state-of-the-art equipment for well-being treatments, including massage tables from Germany integrating zero gravity positions, psammo or Quartz sand treatments, halotherapy, sound therapy, far infrared, hydrotherapies, and more coming soon!

Core Responsibilities: 

• Perform World-Class, professional, and quality massages that are results-oriented 
• Assist in the cleanliness of the Massage area (therapy rooms and common areas)

• Incorporate a schedule that is good to the client, meaning you will not perform more than five hours of massages a day to ensure excellent customer care
• Assist in the promotion of the health and wellness benefits to clients receiving massage therapy on a regular basis; communicate all specials and promotions to clients that are going on in all departments
• Recommend additional treatments and services that guests could benefit from and pre-book appointments
• Promote a positive atmosphere and create an excellent member/guest experience through a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Keep personal relationships to a minimum with the clients to focus on treatment 
• Complete all services within the standard time frames 
• Research past experiences your guest has had so that you may better serve them
• Take detailed client history and note any health conditions
• Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
• Advise clients on stretching, strengthening, or relaxation methods
• Help other team members, by teaching them what you know
• Immediately report guest belongings that have been left behind
• Assist with laundry
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies: 

• All Texas license requirements must be up to date
• Extensive knowledge of massage techniques
• High work ethic and self-initiative 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a talent for making people feel comfortable and better about themselves
• Required to learn and perform treatments 
• Be comfortable and confident performing all treatments 
• Regular attendance according to established guidelines
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
• Strong time management abilities
• Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and always maintain staff and guest confidentiality  

Physical Requirements: 

• Thoroughly and efficiently perform services to clients 
• Sit, stand, and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time
• Bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, grasp and repetitive motion abilities required
• Lift approximately thirty (30) pounds of equipment or supplies, using safe lifting techniques
