Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing their individual needs and learning styles.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and participation, providing feedback to the lead teacher.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive interactions with peers.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to support student success and address any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to early childhood education.
- Assist with daily routines, including snack time, outdoor play, and transitions between activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software relevant to early childhood education.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Background check and clearance required prior to employment.
