What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist Assistant position at Amherst-Pelham Regional Public Schools?
The Amherst, Pelham and Amherst Regional Public School Districts are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Occupational Therapist Assistant. The OTA will provide direct services in the areas of self-regulation, sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor integration, adaptive living skills, etc. OTA services may be delivered in a variety of ways by the occupational therapist assistant individually or in collaboration with other service providers. OTA services will be provided in the school or community setting.
Responsibilities and qualifications include but are not limited to the following:
Therapy and treatment planning and implementation, and contributing to IEP development.
Experience with a range of learner profiles including mild/moderate and intensive special needs and atypical learning profiles
Experience with a diverse population of students within a multicultural and diverse school community
Experience with assistive technologies and adaptive equipment
Highly effective executive function skills including being well organized, strong time management and scheduling skills, and able to work independently to meet timelines
Strong ability to multitask and work within a fast paced environment focused on student learning, data collection, and measurable outcomes
Strong positive, interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, administration and families
