Job Summary
Amherst Community Church and Child Care Center is seeking a reliable and proactive
Facility Maintenance/Custodian for church facility and busy child care center. In this vital
role, you will ensure that our facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained, creating a
welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors alike.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks across various facility areas, including
floors, restrooms, offices, classrooms, and common spaces.
- Maintain cleanliness by performing janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting,
mopping, sweeping, and polishing surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Provide regular facilities maintenance tasks and repairs to keep the premises in
optimal condition.
- Occasional event setup or space reconfiguration.
- Maintain and oversee efficient operation of mechanical systems: HVAC, electrical,
plumbing, alarms, etc.
- Assist in landscaping and plowing as needed
- Snow clearing and salting to insure safety on all walkways, drives and lots
- Attend to all work orders as assigned
- Other projects, planning, contracts and bidding as necessary or assigned
Skills
- Experience in custodial or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning
standards.
- Skilled in using cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and basic
maintenance tools.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors
when needed.
- Experience in facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs essential
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail while managing
multiple cleaning and maintenance responsibilities efficiently.
- One year custodial/maintenance experience required
- Valid Drivers License required

Pay: $20.26 - $21.01 per hour
