Amherst College invites applications for the Program Coordinator position. The Program Coordinator is a part-time, casual position with no benefits. The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $22.00-25.00 per hour.
The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations.
Reporting to the Director of the Center for Humanistic Inquiry (CHI), the casual program coordinator will oversee all aspects of the logistical preparations and implementation of initiatives related to the Mellon Foundation-funded project, The American Index of Academic Freedom. Duties will include logistical preparation around travel, conference preparation, and general organization oversight of the various initiatives related to the project. The two primary initiatives for which the program coordinator will need to oversee are two convenings to be held in January and March 2026. The Program Coordinator must be available for the duration of both weekend events of the CHI and the college at large.

Summary Of Responsibilities
- Coordinate venue booking, catering, equipment, and accessibility needs
- Develop and maintain event timelines, conference schedules, and task deadlines
- Work with vendors and college partners to assist with event promotions, social media content, and registration outreach
- Oversee event setup, registration, troubleshooting, and wrap-up on the day of the events
Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 to 5 years of related experience
- Equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of the minimum education and related experience
- Must be willing to work with Google's suite of products
- Required reference and background checks
