What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flexo Operator (Level A & B) position at Amgraph Packaging Inc?
What You’ll Do
- Operate the press at recommended speeds based on the job
- Maintain product quality through monitoring and adjusting press settings
- Perform all required quality checks, tests, and documentation
- Review job tickets and run jobs to required standards
- Troubleshoot routine press issues and make adjustments
- Follow startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures
- Ensure products meet specifications and complete non-conformance reporting when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of press and work area
Operations / Compliance
- Follow all work instructions, processes, and procedures
- Ensure defect detection systems are functioning
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste according to RCRA and plant procedures
- Maintain proper labeling, storage, and documentation of waste
- Report spills, leaks, or container issues immediately
- Ensure proper guarding is in place and equipment is safe to operate
- Adhere to SQF & GMP processes and keep the plant “customer ready”
Tools & Systems
- Radius system (job functions and SKU tracking)
- ColorCert
- Electronic QPOC
- Anilox database
- Quality Check tools (color readings, gloss, measurements)
- COF machine and data recording
What You Bring
- Strong understanding of flexo printing
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Works well as part of a team
- Problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and understand chemical safety data
- Color perception
Operator Classifications
Press Operator A
- Oversee press crew and delegate as needed
- Work with management on job setup and scheduling
- Change anilox sleeves
- Set impressions and registration
- Maintain housekeeping for assigned area
- Refill lacquer as needed
Press Operator B
- Return unused inks to proper area and ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Manage rewind process and staging of materials
- Maintain housekeeping for assigned area
