Summary
AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Lab Technician with prior relevant experience and/or education to provide sample preparation and chemical analysis of the day-to-day production activities at our Cambridge facility.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements, policies, and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct
- Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG’s values
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, etc.), Environmental Permit Requirements, and company standards
- Provide sample preparation and chemical analysis in a production/heavy industrial facility laboratory
- Responsible for instrumentation validations
- Support or produce lab reports as required
- Perform quality system checks and record
- Support quality department by performing procedure reviews
- Keep the lab and equipment clean and operational
- Support quality and lab programs - training and audits
- Minimum of a high school diploma; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
- 1 – 2 years laboratory experience
- Able to work 12-hour swing/rotation shifts (weekends included)
- Able to follow procedures with accuracy
- Knowledge of chemistry and lab equipment helpful
- Ability to understand technical processes
- Data analysis and record keeping skills
- Problem solving and numeracy skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Good follow through skills, as well as heightened attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Project
- Great housekeeping skills
- Familiar with XRF and Leco Technique
