About the Role
This is an outstanding opportunity to work at one of the top ranked financial institutions in the country. In this position you will be a member of the Tax department, providing services to many of our clients, internal and external.
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, foundations, retirement plans, S-corporations in professional manner
- Review client tax materials and gather additional required data to prepare tax return.
- Professionally correspond with clients as needed to prepare tax returns.
- Analyze data for proper treatment within the guidelines of the tax laws.
- Arrange tax materials and work papers in the clients’ files in accordance with company tax procedures.
- Submit tax returns to tax reviewer for review.
- Review notes from the tax reviewer and make corrections required.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of tax department policies and procedures.
- Submit weekly status reports of tax returns in process to tax manager.
- Submit daily time sheets.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings for updates on procedures and tax law changes.
- Advise the tax manager of problems with the tax returns and budget over-runs so action can be taken.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or Tax.
- Licensed CPA preferred.
- One plus years of tax preparation professional experience.
- Possess a basic knowledge of Federal and state tax laws.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel, general ledger, and tax preparation software.
