Experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Physical Requirements
Light lifting required.
Work Environment
Prompt regular attendance at the assigned workplace is required.
Description
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Originate all types of 1-4 family residential loans, while counseling and communicating with prospective borrowers for the purpose of determining what loan products would be applicable. Learn various types of borrowing programs and process and stay current with changes and new products.
- Receive and take applications convenient to the member and work with the member in the completion of an accurate application and acquisition of supporting documentation.
- Assist members with closing contingencies in a prompt and timely manner.
- Gather additional information required for the closing of the mortgage which is requested by underwriting in a timely manner and maintain a status report of all loans in process.
- Maintain prescribed system report of all loans in process and report regularly to leadership on the status of all leads and loans being worked.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Three to five years of similar or related experience.
- Must be S.A.F.E Act registered through NMLS or have at least one (1) year of mortgage or financial services experience AND become S.A.F.E. Act registered through NMLS upon hire.
- Preferred knowledge of HFLMC/FNMA, FHA, VA and other general mortgage lending procedures and requirements.
- Ability to represent America's First Federal Credit Union in a professional manner projecting the image of 'Member Focused Service'.
