What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operator position at AMF LLC?
We operate a 2,200-acre row crop farm producing corn, wheat, oats, sorghum, rye, millet, soybeans, cotton, and peanuts, and we require seasonal workers to assist with all duties related to raising these crops from planting through harvest. Employees will assist with field preparation; attaching implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors; and operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery. Duties include planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing, dusting, and harvesting crops; installing, maintaining, and repairing pivot irrigation systems; loading and unloading crops or materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, and transfer augers; and handling crop flow by loading hoppers, containers, conveyors, or other machinery using forklifts, augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks. Employees will manipulate and adjust machine controls, mix and load chemicals or seed, monitor equipment during operation to detect malfunctions, attach accessories or extensions, and operate harvesting equipment. Additional responsibilities include completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and irrigation systems, recording required agricultural data, driving pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, and performing other related farm tasks as assigned. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
