What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non-Emergency Wheelchair Van Driver position at AMF Care Transit?
**This is a 1099 position**
AMF is looking for individuals to help assist our veterans/patients with transportation. We do transport COVID-19 patients on occasion. Work will include getting our veterans/patients to/from dialysis and doctor's/therapy appointments. We use commercial vans with hydraulic lifts as well as wheelchair mini vans with ramps. Hours of operation vary based on appointments. Looking for Full Time
Must haves:
- Safely operate a wheelchair van to transport passengers to their destinations
- Be punctual, dependable, have excellent customer service
- Be able to work at least one Saturday a month
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking while ensuring their safety and comfort
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the van
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the van to ensure its proper functioning
- Communicate effectively with passengers and address their needs or concerns
- Strong driving skills, including the ability to navigate through different routes and traffic conditions
Please note that a valid driver's license, clean background and MVR is required for this position.
