What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Stable Hand position at Amethyst Farm Equestrian?
Job Summary
Amethyst Farm Equestrian seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable equestrian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and extensive experience working with horses. This role involves general chores around the farm but for the right candidate could also expand to include teaching, coaching, event management and more. If you are not extremely comfortable working with horses, please do not apply. Please no college students unless you live in the area year round. Paid sick and vacation time.
Responsibilities
- Horse care chores
- Maintain cleanliness of the barns, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment.
- Monitor animal health and report any concerns to management.
- Manage other, less experienced, employees.
- Communicate with Farm Managers and clients.
- Perform heavy lifting as necessary to manage feed, bedding, and other materials.
Skills
- Ability to handle a variety of sport horses
- Detail and safety oriented
- Familiarity with equine care is mandatory
- Ability to drive a tractor or be taught
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
