Position: Preschool Itinerant Teacher (Athens County)
Salary: Per Established Teacher Salary Schedule. This is a nine month position with Board approved benefits.

Program Description: The Athens-Meigs ESC’s mission is to work in partnership with the community to improve student achievement, build educator capacity, and raise expectations for all individuals within our service area. The Early Childhood program facilitates preschool programs in Athens and Meigs Counties. Our program adheres to a curriculum which aligns to Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards and is based on research and child development.
Purpose Statement/Position Description:
The position of the ECIS Itinerant Teacher was established of the purpose of:
Observing, evaluating, and serving students referred for special education services
Participating in observation for multiple educational settings, including but not limited to public preschool, Head Start, Church Preschool Programs, and in-home settings
Administering assessments and preschool screening instruments including but not limited to ASQ;SE, Brigance, ELA, COS, DECA, DIAL
Providing suggestions to ECE teachers as relevant for children who are needing additional support in their educational setting
Writing relevant parts of the Evaluation Team Report (ETR)
Writing relevant parts of the IEP
Attending all IEP Team Meetings
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education
Appropriate and current State of Ohio teaching certification/license
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
Must pass BCI and FBI background checks
