GENERAL SUMMARY:


This position is located in Webster City, Iowa.


Under minimal supervision, the Community and Member Services Coordinator is a cross-functional member of the team possessing a growth mindset, flexible attitude, and willingness to be a collaborative team member.


As a cross-functional member of the team, this individual is comfortable in both community-facing roles and back-office operations. This person is willing to step outside of his or her respective assigned responsibilities, interact with members and event attendees, represent the Webster City Chamber of Commerce as a brand, and share the workload.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS


  1. Manage all office administration, including invoicing, bill pay, and bank deposit coordination
  2. Manage reception and visitor services
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of personalities, diffuse strong opinions as needed, or empathize with member challenges and/or concerns. Actionable follow-up as required.
  4. Manage client and / or membership database
  5. Administrative support to the Executive Director and Chamber Board as needed
  6. Ability to present a professional image representing the chamber, during and outside of working hours
  7. Support Events as needed
  8. Other duties as assigned


Direct Reports:  None.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

This work is performed in a moderately noisy office environment. Work can be stressful and pressured by deadlines. Occasional travel may be required. May be asked to drive at night or in inclement weather from time to time.


HOURS:

15-20 hours weekly or as determined by office workload.


Tuesday through Friday

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The office is closed on Mondays.

The Community and Member Services Coordinator and Executive Director shall maintain staggered schedules when appropriate to maximize office coverage while ensuring adequate time for member engagement outside the office.


Evening or weekend hours may be required to host special events.


EFFORT:

Sitting for long periods of time at a desk. Constantly looking at a computer screen. Must

be able to see, hear, and speak. Filing, fingering, and sorting is a usual activity. Must be

able to lift 25 pounds.


MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:

Computer, printer, calculator, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, and vehicle.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not essential. A combination of education and experience may be substituted when proficiency is demonstrated.


Excellent organizational and administrative skills with particular attention to accuracy, detail and foresight are essential to manage multiple projects. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work with deadlines and must maintain a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:

The incumbent must have computer skills. Experience with the following types of

software and/or Windows based applications is preferred: Microsoft Office products with particular attention to Word and mail merging, Excel and Outlook email and calendars.
