A Surveyor is responsible for surveying the land available for construction projects. The responsibilities of a construction surveyor include preparation of worksheets, plans, boundary descriptions; providing consultation on land development projects; read a blue print and map; surveying land for various project sites; and communicating with clients, staff, and construction crew. Assist Supervisor or perform other tasks as assigned.

Essential Job Skills
- Be organized and able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Be able to work with others and also to work independently on assigned tasks
- Be proficient in use of, but not limited to, GPS, Total Station, tape measure and other surveying equipment
- Be able to read blueprints, maps and other required surveying or project documents
- Put away equipment/tools at the end of the day, and maintain good housekeeping and safety at all times
- Prior experience with heavy construction staking, topo, GPS and conventional methods of surveying
- Be committed to work safely and to wear all of the required safety equipment
- Be able to read and understand Safety and Employment requirements
- Be dependable and consistent with regards to attendance and punctuality
- Willing and able to work extended hours and possible nights and weekends as required
- Tolerate temperature extremes and changing jobsite conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering desired
- Certified survey technician designation is a plus
- Proficient mathematical and computer skills
- AutoCAD Software
