The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for the 2026-27 season.
Work Schedule: 2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m) Monday-Friday, with various nights and weekends during the season.

The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for the 2026-27 season.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Supports the Head Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of soccer.
- Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group and team level.
- Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
- Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Participates in special events including banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
- A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
- Experience coaching at the youth, middle school, or high school level preferred.
- Ability to create a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all athletes, families, and staff.
- Punctual and consistent work attendance.
