Overview
AmeriWater is a long-established industry leader in the design, manufacture, installation and supply of water purification systems and services for dialysis, industrial and healthcare applications. We are looking for a Controller to join our growing team in Dayton, Ohio!
Position Summary
Responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within our manufacturing operations. Oversee accounting staff.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to track production costs, inventory valuation, and variances.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to functional leaders across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Manage audits and relationships with external auditors.
- Implement process improvements and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience, with at least three (3) years in a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Attributes
- Strategic thinker with strong cost accounting and ERP system experience who can partner with operations to improve profitability.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
Licenses & Certifications
- CPA or CMA, preferred
